Regenerate your gums with Laser Periodontal Therapy.

If you broke your arm, would you expect the Emergency Room Doctor amputate???
Of course not, you would have it set and placed in a cast to heal for some time.

So why would you amputate gum tissue to treat gum disease? At BLODGETT DENTAL CARE we treat your gums the same way a physician treats any other part of your body. We use your tissue to help heal you!

Periodontal (Gum) Disease is caused by your body losing the battle against the bacteria in the gums and around your teeth.

There are three main options in the treatment of Periodontal (Gum) Disease:

1. Scaling and Root Planing -- With this option the patient is numbed and the calculus is cleaned off the teeth. However this does nothing to treat the Bacteria which caused the disease in the first place.

2. Osseous Surgery -- This option is a surgery in which the gums are filleted away from the teeth and bone, the teeth are cleaned, the gums are cut away to a lower level and it is all stitched back together. Again this does nothing to treat the Bacteria in the gums.

3. Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP) -- This is the most advanced treatment available for gums disease today! A tiny laser fiber (about the thickness of three hairs) is inserted between the tooth and the gum, and the bacterial infection is cleared away. The procedure is fast: It takes just two 2-hour sessions. Your dentist will treat one half of your mouth at each session...and you'll probably feel good enough to go right back to work afterwards.
This is the true medical approach to treating gum disease, target the bacteria that are causing the infection and you stand the best chance of healing.

If you or someone you know suffers from gum disease BLODGETT DENTAL CARE now offers LANAP, a comfortable alternative to Cut and Sew methods of the past.
